Semi Final 2 Tuesday 9th February

Our second semi-final was held at Ballyloughlin on Tuesday night.

Last year's runner-up Eamon Murphy teamed with Andrew Johnston to play Colin StJohn and Mark Stringer.

In the first frame an excellent early break from Mark put the pressure on the opposition but Eamon and Andrew quickly found their feet and were near parity by mid frame. But in the closing stages some good safety and fine potting from Colin&Mark helped them to the victory by a score of 45 to 22.

The second frame was a close affair and the black lodged in the corner pocket gave rise to an extended bout of safety play from both sides. Some good long range pots from Colin gave his team a slight advantage as we neared the end. After time up with the score at 20-25, Andrew Johnston potted a difficult red leaving an even more difficult blue as frame ball. it went close but didn't fall and Colin&Mark took the frame by a score of 25 to 21.
