Two matches were played on Monday night, one at Sunrise and the other at Leabeg.
At Sunrise Group 11 winners Tommy Synnott & Conor Woods faced Group 12 winners Eamon Murphy & Andrew Johnston.
Tommy and Olver won the first frame well by a score of 41 to 14. Frame 2 was a tight affair with safety play dominating and it finished a draw at 14 to 14. The combined frame scores at that stage indicated that Tommt and Oliver had a 27 point advantage and that Eamon and Andrew needed to win by 28 points. After some excellent long potting by Eamon, he and Andrew won by a score of 40 points to 7 which is a difference of 33 points ! Well done.
Eamon and Andrew will play in the quarter final at Beechbrook at 9pm on Friday.
Over at Leabeg, Tony Walshe and Craig Newsome faced Trevor Phillips and Tom McDonald and in another 3 frame thriller Tony and Craig won by scores of 35-46, 31-29 and 31-40. Tony Walshe and Craig Newsome will play in the quarter final at Ballyloughlin on Friday night. Good luck.
